Ripples in sand and dunes formed by strong winds is the very first thing I associate with the Desert! There isn’t alot of dunes around the Alice Springs and surrounding regions, however you do see a few small patches on the highways between Uluru and Alice Springs. This is one of those, I used my polariser here (I did nearly everywhere) especially to cancel the glare out and allow the true red/orange colours to be captured, while darkening the blue sky. Not quite the same as the old Windows XP background, but the result I wanted :) !

Power lines are often associated with negative connotations of how ugly and degrading they are to the natural landscapes, however I’ve attempted to represent them as a dynamical photogenic object by composing a wide angle and slightly distorted photo with the long electrical cables stretching past the frame.

This is another angle of the Petronas Towers looking up, and the other building next to it which is a little annoying because it makes the twin towers look not so huge, but they’re still massive! To photograph from this angle I had to lie down on the ground and look up at my camera sitting on the tripod and guess the composition, fortunately with digital you can just fire away not worry about wasting film.

Here is more long exposure night photography, I really like these long shutter speeds and the streaming car lights :P

This photo was taken in Batu Ferringhi in the late-afternoon sun with the warm light illuminating the right side of the horse and owner, and creating a softer tone. On the beaches of Penang there are heaps of water-sports available: Jet Skiing, Paragliding, Banana Rides, etc; or you could ride along the beach on horse back. So this pair (in the photo) were nearly always waiting at the front gate of my hotel :) .
