Christmas Bauble

To start the festive season I’ll give a step-by-step guide on how to create a nice looking Christmas Bauble!

1.Begin by opening GIMP, with the following:

2. Use the Gradient Tool: Red and Black with Radial.

3. Use this simple GIMP Pattern I made: Pattern Download(200kb)

Put it in C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\patterns (May be different, as long as it’s in Patterns (Refresh if can’t see in GIMP Patterns Box))

4. Now, Create a new layer “Bauble”, use the Eclipse Tool to create a circle, and use the Gradient Tool: Blue and Black with Radial.

5.  Go Select –> Shrink, use around 36:

6. Use the Eclipse Tool again, but with Subtract on, check that and simple click on the Circle again and move in as shown:

7. Use the Gradient Tool as shown, with the settings:

8. Now use the Rectangular Tool with the following settings:

9. With the Eclipse Tool (Subtract setting still), do as shown:

10. Then use the Gradient Tool with the settings shown:

11. Grab the Eclipse Tool and draw as shown:

12. Go Select –> Border, around 2:

13.Use the Lasso Tool to cut off the bottom, make sure its in Subtract:

14. Then use the Gradient Tool with the settings as shown:

15. Grab the pencil Tool and Draw a line, with settings as shown:
